Fr. Des Fahey sadly passed away
in October 2009.
The senior pupils of Ballindine N.S. attended his funeral
Mass
and formed a guard of honour outside Tuam Cathedral
for his removal to Ballyhaunis graveyard afterwards.
May he rest in peace.

On Sunday, 23rd Nov. '08, Mayo County Manager, Des Mahon,
and local councillor Pat McHugh
presented a beautiful picture to Ballindine Community Centre.
It is a view of Ballindine in the snow of Christmas 2000.
This photo was originally taken by our retired parish priest, Fr.
Des Fahey
and was a winning entry in a competition run by Mayo County Council.
As this is also Fr. Fahey's golden jubilee of his ordination to the
priesthood,
the parish council took the oportunity of giving him a party
and presentation of our own.
Fr. Martin O'Connor led a beautiful liturgy service, followed by the
presentaion.

in Ballindine
