The Flood in New York

It was half way into our summer holidays. My mum went into town and booked a holiday to New York.
We are going to sleep on the top floor of one of the tallest buildings in New York.
We will stay for two weeks.

TWO WEEKS LATER! It was the day I was going to New York. I was so excited.
We packed our bags in about fifty minutes. We ate a snack and then we went to Knock airport to get the
5 o’clock flight to New York, even though it was only 3 o’clock in the afternoon. I asked my dad how long
we were going to have to wait. He said, “Two hours.” O Holy Mother of God!

I’m in New York now. It is very hot weather. That night all the family were asleep but I was awake.
I heard a knock on the window of our apartment. When I looked out the window, I saw Spiderman.
I said, “What are you doing here?” He said, “Do you want to climb the Empire State Building?”
I said, “Yes, please.” “Come on then.”

We climbed to the top of the Empire State Building and then it began to rain very heavily.
It looked like a flood was coming. A few minutes later, the water was very high.
Rescue boats had to be called in. I saw my family go past on one. They looked worried wondering where I was.

Spiderman looked in someone’s window and saw the weather on a television. There was going to be a
massive wave coming in over New York. I saw it coming and pulled on Spider man’s web. I broke it.
I said, “That’s the end of Spiderman.” “I wonder where is Superman”. I bet he’s on holidays showing
off his muscles.

The wave was coming very fast now and knocked me over. Everyone in New York was killed.
When Superman came back from his holidays, he didn’t know where everyone was gone.
And New York was known as a ghost town from then on.

Wars

One day in the future wars, Zack, Eric and I and many others fought aliens. There were many aliens and
not that many of us. But we had lots of weapons. It took five years but finally it was over.

After that we had a celebration. We thought we had killed all of them, but we didn’t. There was one we
didn’t get and he was the King of the aliens. He was called Qanto. We couldn’t get him because
he was not in the future wars.

He made more aliens but much stronger. After three years we won again. The alien king was
so mad that he came down to our planet and fought us himself. He was very hard to beat but
with our effort, we won for the last time and there were no more aliens.

My Operation

One day I had to go to hospital for an operation. My dad woke me up at 6.30 in the morning. I asked Dad for my breakfast and he said, “NO!” I forgot that I had to fast for two days. We got in the van and off we went.

When we got to the hospital, the nurse said to wait for a while. I said, “Ok.” Then she came back and
said to go in to the special room. I went in and there was a doctor with a bed.
I had to get into special clothes and got on the bed.

I went into theatre and the doctor had a huge injection and filled it with gas. I got a bit nervous and
my Dad came in and I had to count to five. Then I was asleep and my Dad had to go out.
The doctor started my operation.

An hour later I woke up. My throat was sore and the nurse got my Dad and a doctor and we went
back to the room. An hour later Mammy and my brother came to visit me. I fell asleep for hours.
My uncle came to see me and he brought me presents. My mother, brother and uncle went home then.

Nightime came and the nurse gave me some medicine and then she went out. I fell asleep and
woke up at 5.30. The agony was awful. I woke my Dad and he got the nurse. My drip was bleeding.
She took it off and Dad and I went back to sleep.

In the morning I got up, went down to the playroom and made a card for my Dad. Then I went back to
my room and gave it to him. The nurse came down to check my blood pressure. She took my plaster off
and she told me to take off my suit thing, get dressed and to go home. When I got home, all my family
were there for a surprise party. My Mam and brother gave me a huge hug.
That night I was fast asleep in my bed.

The Plane Crash

One day I went to the airport. I was going to Australia. The plane was cancelled for half an hour,
but finally it arrived and we got on the plane. When we were in the middle of the ocean,
I heard a crack in the aeroplane. I thought it was the plane breaking up and it was!

In a few minutes it was turning upside down and heading for the ocean. I was really scared that I would die.
Then it was sinking in the ocean. A lot of people died. Another man and I tried to get the survivors out.
Then we saw an island. We swam as fast as we could to get there.

On the island, we saw a forest. In there we got all our food and some water. Then we went back to the plane
and we got all the dead bodies and buried them on the island. While the survivors and I were out in
the forest getting some food, one of the survivors stayed behind because he was dying and
another man was with him.

When we came back, we saw another plane passing by the island. We tried to wave up to it but it couldn’t see us. Then the next day another plane was coming back from Australia. The pilot saw the crashed plane
and he landed. But we were out there nearly three weeks, so we needed an ambulance.
“But we are on an island and there are no ambulances out here”, I said. The plane collected us and
next day we were in a hospital in Ireland. Then I was at home again and I was glad too.

The Night I Shrank


One morning I woke up and I was the size of a puppy. I quickly called in my Mam.
She said, “You Shrank.” I shouted back, “What?” I had to get ready for school.
I went to my wardrobe to get my clothes. When I opened it, all my clothes fell on top of me.
They were all too big. I had to wear my little sister’s clothes.

I went to school and everyone looked at me as if they never saw me before. I sat on my chair.
Well I wasn’t really sitting on my chair, I was sitting on the table. I had to use a lead of a pencil
to write with. I had to use a broken piece of a rubber for a rubber.

Soon it was time to go home. I tried to drag my bag home. When I got home I went to the doctor.
The doctor said, “Oh my goodness. What has happened?” I replied back, “I don’t know.”
He asked me what I had to drink or eat and I said I had a glass of milk before I went to bed last night.

He said, “Take a drink of this milk. I took a drink and I turned into a rabbit. Then he gave me
medication and I soon turned back into a human. I asked him why did I turn into a rabbit and shrink.
He said, “You are allergic to milk.” So from now on I will never drink milk again.

The Robbery

One day I was going to the bank and I heard a scream. I ran into the bank and pulled out my 33 automatic
and rammed in a cartridge. I saw somebody pointing a gun at an employee.
I cocked my gun and fired a round at the gun.

The man turned around and let off a shot. I rang Aaron and told him to come and to bring weaponry.
When Aaron came he had a magnum revolver. The man suddenly began to fire. I shot at his hand and
he fell to the ground. I cuffed him.

I got a call from Denis. He said someone was snooping around and to pick him up.
So we went to his house and picked him up. Then we went to the warehouse.
I saw a black Maserartai. I stopped the car and told Denis to get a description of it.
He got in and we saw a light. I drove to it. I took out my 33. Aaron taken out his magnum
and Denis taken out his Uzi. I let off a shot.

Aaron heard a car. I leaped into the Ferrari and sped after it. When we were up close a Heckler
and Colt machine gun popped out the window. It began to fire. I swerved on to the other side of the road
and told Denis to fire. The other car exploded. The robbers were dead.
