Teacher T.J. McGreal retires from Ballindine N.S. this summer and the Board of Management and
Parents Association held a function in the school hall on Mon. 22nd June in his honour.
The Principal, Mary Glynn, praised T.J. for his dedicated service to the school.
She said he brought laughter, not only to the staff room, but also to the children, who wrote their own
tribute to their beloved teacher. He encouraged his pupils, gave them confidence and brought out the best in them.
T.J. was always willing to take on extra curricular duties when the need arose and he will be sadly
missed next year.
The Principals of Irishtown, Milltown and Meelickmore schools also attended the function
as T.J. had taught in those schools in the past.

Pat Higgins, Chairman of the Parents Association presents T.J. with an individually handcrafted mirror
depicting both the old and new Ballindine schools, where T.J. taught since 1994.

The Board presented him with a gift voucher, while the staff also presented
their colleague with a gift.
Then it was party time with lots of tempting treats to eat followed by dancing
to P.J. Barrett's Disco.
A great time was had by all, both adults and children.
The whole community joins in wishing T.J. a long and happy retirement.
